#3497 Tranquil Cottage Getaway, Walk to Carmel, Pets Welcome
Welcome to "Casa de Playa"!
The fresh tranquil feeling of being at the seashore will follow you home to this snug cottage that sleeps four to five located in a quiet tree-shrouded neighborhood south of Ocean Avenue. Ideally located, it is an easy level walk to the heart of downtown Carmel with its collection of fine shops, galleries and restaurants. The historic Carmel Mission is only a couple of blocks in the opposite direction and the locals' favorite, River Beach, just a few minutes away by car. Highway 1, providing access to Monterey and Pacific Grove to the north and Big Sur to the south, is just a short drive.
The pristine white of the clouds, the azure and sea-foam blues of the waves and the soothing neutrals of the sands of Carmel Beach are the colors that predominate in this bright two-bedroom, two-bath retreat that is situated a bit lower than the street and secluded behind a bank of ivy. As you enter the property you are greeted by potted flowering plants interspersed throughout a terraced front area that is set up with lawn furniture for relaxing with a book on a warm sunny day.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted by complementary hors d'oeuvres and wine, passes to the famous Spa on the Plaza in downtown Monterey, tickets for a tasting at Scheid Winery in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is at your disposal to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, plush bathrobes and towels and beach gear.
This cozy cottage, with its wood floors and beamed ceilings throughout, has been freshly painted. The front door opens to a light-filled living room with big windows, a taupe chaise sofa with ottoman, comfortable chairs, an area rug and a 42-inch flat-screen TV for movie watching after a long day of taking in the local attractions. A glass table with four chairs allows you to enjoy a wonderful meal.
The spotless white kitchen, fully equipped with a stainless-steel gas range, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave has everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal and entertain. Step out from the kitchen through glass doors to a deck furnished with an umbrella, a wooden table and chairs for four and a gas grill for enjoying candlelight al fresco meals on those days when you just can't get enough of the outdoors. A towering Japanese maple graces a small back yard.
The master bedroom, which has floor-to-ceiling windows that look out to a narrow deck and greenbelt of oaks, has two driftwood end tables and a king with Memory Foam topper that converts to two twins. The luxury bedding with Colors of the Sea will remind you that the Pacific Sea is just minutes away. The palest of sea-foam-green tiles are used on the floor and in the shower of the master bath.
A versatile reading room off the living room has curtain-covered French doors that can be closed for privacy or to use the space as a second bedroom. Two day couches with dark wood frames and off-white upholstery can be converted to beds for sleeping two or placed together to make a queen. A second recently updated bathroom with pale taupe tiles has a farmhouse sink and a tub/shower with colors of the Sea.
