If breathtaking beauty, tranquility, peace, quiet and an unbeatable location are on your list of vacation musts, then this is the perfect retreat for you. The name of the house, “Heavenly Vista”, perfectly describes the experience. Situated only minutes from downtown Carmel in a secluded neighborhood, this lovely home can accommodate up to 8 adults. Historic Monterey and the quaint town of Pacific Grove are only 10 minutes away; Pebble Beach, with its world-class golf courses, is even closer. Big Sur is about a 40-minute drive.
From the driveway, a short flight of steps leads to a sweeping deck and a front door that opens to a great room flooded with gorgeous coastal light. The views from the deck and most rooms in the house are, quite simply, unparalleled, encompassing mountains, the pristine blue of the ocean, the grandeur of Point Lobos and other remarkable sites. This house is perfect for families, family reunions or several couples traveling together. It is filled with areas, both inside and out, for intimate conversations, game playing, reading or quiet contemplation.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted by complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine or sparkling cider, passes to the famous Spa on the Plaza in downtown Monterey, tickets for a tasting at Scheid Winery in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, plush bathrobes and over-sized towels.
The great room, which combines the living room and two dining areas, features floor-to-ceiling windows, high beamed ceilings, hardwood floors and a Carmel Stone wood-burning fireplace. The living room has a suede-fabric sofa, two tweed occasional chairs and an over-sized leather ottoman that serves as a coffee table. This is the perfect place to relax and drink in the vistas, cozy up in front of a warm fire on cool nights and watch movies on the large flat-screen TV over the fireplace.
Enjoy your meals, with stunning views of the ocean, at an oval mahogany dining table with upholstered chairs for eight. The table can be extended to accommodate even more guests. A second dining area beyond the living room -- perfect for children or overflow guests -- has a round table with four chairs upholstered in a paisley print, built-in cabinetry and book shelves with inspirational reading. Sliding glass doors open to a Carmel Stone patio and an enclosed pond. Beyond the patio are casual terraced gardens planted with native plants. At the crest of the property is a romantic wooden swing for two for star-gazing.
Prepare gourmet meals while watching the ever-changing panorama of land and sea in a spotless fully equipped kitchen with white cabinetry, gray marble counters, a gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and an abundance of cooking tools . Beautiful dishware and linens are provided for elegant entertaining.
Off the living room is a multi-purpose room which can serve as an office, a family room or a fourth bedroom. This room has a wood-burning fireplace, a built-in desk and a queen sleeper sofa with a Memory Foam topper that sleeps two. Adjcent bathroom with gray marble tile counter tops has a shower.
You'll never want to leave the second-story master suite with its spectacular views and soothing earthen palette of browns, sand and off-white. Relax in the comfortable king bed with its plush coverlet and luxury linens. Gaze over the treetops to the ocean or watch the fire crackle in a wood-burning fireplace while you enjoy a glass of sparkling wine chilled in the mini-refrigerator at the wet bar just outside the bedroom door. Two rattan chairs are positioned to take in the panoramic views along with your morning coffee. Step out onto a small deck to breath-in the fresh ocean breezes. An elegant bathroom features double sinks, gleaming gray marble counter tops, white cabinetry, a separate commode and a glass-enclosed walk-in tiled shower.
Two additional bedrooms are located on the main level. One has 2 twins (convertible to a king with Memory Foam topper) with burnt orange, gold and ivory print coverlets, plaid pillow shams, luxury linens, botanical prints, a dark wood bedside stand and bronze table lamp. The nearby bathroom has a glass-enclosed shower over tub. The other bedroom features a king bed (also convertible to twins) with a robin's-egg-blue coverlet, plaid pillow shams, luxury linens and a small drop-leaf table. An adjacent multi-purpose closet has an additional free-standing sink.
The deck is magnificent with multiple seating and dining areas that would be perfect for large outdoor entertaining. One section, glass-enclosed for wind protection, has a metal table with umbrella and chairs for 6 for al fresco meals while watching the sunset. A group can assemble for drinks and conversation in an adjacent area that has upholstered outdoor furniture in a cozy round configuration with a gas fire-pit (due to be installed by late February) and an outdoor heater. Another dining area has a round metal table and chairs for four. A wooden picnic table for additional seating is provided in a garden area off to the side of the house.
Two cars can be parked in the double garage. Additional parking is available in the driveway.
