"Nice comfortable home in Pacific Grove! Overall we had a lovely time in Pacific Grove and enjoyed being so close to the Aquarium, parks and restaurants. We would come back just to be able to eat at Zab Zab Thai again. The furnishings were clean and the home felt updated (except for bathroom) and comfortable. We appreciated the home was dog friendly and there was no evidence of other animals in the house (no hair on furniture). There were definitely some funky things with the property that could be improved (scalding hot water in shower, no hot water in kitchen) but the kitchen was well stocked with every appliance and cooking utensil needed which was very appreciated! The only thing missing from the listing description which I think should be disclosed is the property is actually three units. There is a downstairs unit (C) which we learned is rented long-term to a family. At night we could hear this family speaking very loudly on the phone in Spanish but it was generally quiet by 9:30. The house is also on a very busy main road (4 lanes) and it is noisy during the day but surprisingly quiet at night. We had an incident with the renters of the upstairs guest unit but the property management owner was extremely responsive and dealt with it immediately. Our house manager was MIA throughout our stay and was very difficult to reach via email, text and phone prior to our stay. It all worked out and because of how Annie Martin (the owner) dealt with the incident, we will use Sanctuary Rentals again." ~ J. Eyet & Family

"We love the Gingerbread House. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were all soooo comfortable. Nice size dining room table that seats at least six people. Comfortable furnishings in each room. Bright and sunny home with large rooms and closets. Very quiet and clean. Washer and dryer great to have. Would of liked to have more water pressure in kitchen sink, and bath/shower controls didn't work really well. They were hard to turn and regulate and would turn real hot, then real cold, difficult to adjust properly. Would of liked to have one more TV, perhaps in the master bedroom, so people could watch different programs. All in all we had a wonderful stay for our Thanksgiving Holiday with our family." ~ Sincerely, the Porters

"We had a lovely time in Pacific Grove and your home was the perfect resting spot from our daily explorations in the area. We decided to take a trip with our two adult daughters and son-in-law before the birth of our grandson - and we packed in a lot! Big Sur, elephant seals, exploring Carmel by the Sea, Cannery Row, whale watching, hiking at Point Lobos, the Aquarium and the Steinbeck Museum - as well as Santa Cruz :) We cooked, watched movies, played games and hung out at this cozy place - and it was perfect! Well appointed and comfortable :) Great memories were made that we will keep for a life time! Thank you for the Wine & Cheese! Yummy :)" ~ Dale & Family

"We stayed here as a group of runners doing the Big Sur Marathon and others joined along for support. It really worked out perfectly as a space for what we needed and enjoyed. We were from all over: Chicago, Vegas, Philadelphia, New York, San Fran, and San Jose. Easy to find what we needed, easy to get arrival, and a very charming house. We even rented the Guest House which helped separate the noisy guests from the sleeping guests. Thanks!" ~ Lori and the Gang

“Monterey Escape! Our mini vacation was a girls get away.... Seven friends who live in various areas of the US got together for some fun and recreation. We had a great time, even spent a day in San Francisco. Plan to do this every year!”

“The Gingerbread House Experience! Great location, we used both units A & B, house nicely appointed- with comfortable furniture, well stocked kitchen implements and settings, adequate sleeping for 6 adults and 5 children ( with 2 teenage girls, we could have used extra 1/2 bath. Proximity to town, beach and museum great for walkers.”

“Cute House, Great Stay! We rented both units for a good chunk of our wedding party for our wedding weekend (we stayed in it as well all nights except for the wedding night). It is a super cute house with a beach vibe that just makes you feel good. I was thrilled once I walked in and saw everything, taking stress off the wedding, because I knew our friends would enjoy their stay. The place had everything you could need... I have stayed in a rental before where they only left 1/2 roll of toilet paper and not much else as far as appliances, but that was not the case here. You could literally cook a 5 course meal and have all of the tools, serving trays, appliances, etc to make them. Want to have a beach picnic? They've got everything you need. The units are separate, but make it easy to have a big group using both units. You won't feel that separate because of the connecting door. However, if you were separate, the door is in a perfect place to give both parties privacy. I was very pleased, and I believe all of the guest were, too.”

“Wonderful, Comfortable, Relaxing Home! Had an awesome time with 8 ladies getting together for a weekend and we rented the whole house. Everything was awesome, the place looked great, again since we were there last year. The ladies insisted upon coming back to the same place as they LOVED it the first time. And they want to come back next year!!! Easy walking access to Pacific Grove and to the ocean. The house is very comfortable and is decorated like an interior designer had done it. Would highly recommend for famililes, friends, or a romantic getaway.”

“Charming! Whatever you imagine it to be, it is even better. The pillows fluffier, the sheets cleaner, the bed softer, the decor more charming, the amenities nicer. I highly recommend this house and the company of houses Flipkey: provides. My guests loved it and my sister raved (I rented houses for my wedding party attendees). The price was just right too, much cheaper than a hotel and yet a better stay. If you can get it, do.”

“Pacific Grove Haven! This is a gorgeous property located at the "quiet" end of Pine Street. A large house with several rental configurations, I stayed in the impeccably furnished Main House (street level) with 3BR, 1BA that worked well for me traveling alone to visit my new grandson. A handy binder offered all kinds of site and local information. Informational notes were located everywhere and saved a lot of time trying to figure out how appliances, TV (even the custom LR blinds) work. Easy access to most of PG, either walking or driving. I was 2 miles and five minutes from everything I needed/wanted. Having stayed at a Sanctuary Vacation Rental property before I expected a thoroughly planned, professionally supported stay - and that's exactly what I had. Kudos.”

“Great Little Cottage! Great little cottage. Close to Cannery Row and the beach! Stocked kitchen with everything from Cuisine Art mixers to blenders. Even stocked with picnic baskets and plastic plates for a little outing. We rented the upstairs and down stairs and were able to easily sleep 11. Our only difficulty was 2 bathrooms with 11 women! Otherwise, fantastic!”

“Lovely Home In Beautiful Pacific Grove! We had a wonderful week vacation in the Pine Street home. We all especially liked the cozy comfort of the home. Furniture in living room was great for all of us to snuggle up and watch a movie. The beds were very comfortable. The dining room table was large enough for our family to play board games at night. We also had a 6 and 5 year old with us and our little dog too! The amenities were very nice. Large beach towels a big plus for our beach days. We would definately recommend this beautiful home :)”

“Wonderful Ocean Getaway Home! We truly loved our time at the Pine Ave. house in Pacific Grove. Everything we needed was pleasantly arranged. Extra blankets, folding chairs so we all could sit together at the dining table, and many little extras that made our stay so comfy. Thanks for thinking of everything so we could relax. The colors and decorations around the beach and shells theme was lovely, as were the pictures in each bedroom. Each room is a real "charmer!" Thanks for creating such a lovely vacation home! Thanks also for your quick responses to our questions that helped us plan our stay. We walked to a wonderful restaurant only 2 blocks away. And it is only a half mile (per our car's GPS) to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, and some of our group walked there from the house!”

“Spacious, Comfortable Vacation Home In A Super Location!, Reviewed on Flipkey:
This house was perfect for my husband, me, daughter, son in-law and baby! The rooms were spacious and "comfy." The kitchen was amazing with every possible gadget and appliance you could need to cook and bake to your heart's content! Having 2 aquarium passes available was fantastic! The home is in a lovely residential neighborhood for a beautiful and easy ocean walk to the aquarium! We would love to stay here again!”

“Wonderful Wedding Weekend! The house was immaculate, roomy & comfortable. It was a perfect weekend. It is stocked w/plenty of glasses/plates/serveware/pots & pans/towels/beach towels & mats. The beds are comfy and the rooms spacious. There is plenty of cupboard space but not much counter space to work on. Luckily we also rented the upstairs unit, so we had 2 workspaces. The only thing that I felt it lacked were spices and shampoo/conditioner. The downstairs kitchen had salt but no pepper. The bathrooms had body wash but no shampoo/conditioner. All in all it's a great place to stay, within walking distance to town, excellent walking trail along the ocean, a short drive or long walk to Monterey & the aquarium (the passes got alot of use).”
