“An all around superb home! Amazing stay! We had everything we needed, the kitchen was great. Good family movies and the location is amazing! It would have been nice to have a bonfire pit in the backyard for some nighttime fun but the large dining table and boardgames made up for it. I would definitely stay here again." ~ David K. and Family

"This was a wonderful Easter vacation spot for our family. The house was very charming and beautiful. We walked into a huge backyard which became a great place for egg hunt. The kids loved it. They also loved the downstairs entertainment area and bedroom. It was a nice hide away for them. After a long day, they fell fast asleep in the comfy and cozy beds. There was enough beds, blankets, and towels for 5 kids. We cooked a delicious Easter brunch which we laid out on the long wooden table for 8. The view from the lighthouse windows was also ideal. We were able to cook because everything we needed was right there. This house left nothing to chance, everything we needed was at our fingertips. The whole house was warm and comfortable. We wanted to stay longer, but in the future we will plan on making this a new vacation spot. Thank you for a great stay it was wonderful and made for great memories."

"Pacific Grover Charmer
Stayed in Pacific Grove for New Years and really enjoyed the rental. House is very well maintained and clean, kitchen well stocked with everything you need. Driveway fits multiple cars and plenty of parking on the street. The little guest house in the back worked well for us. Downstairs bathroom is a bit different, with 3 sinks and 2 showers, but worked. Pictures are accurate. My only issue was the front door, sticks a lil bit. Partial ocean view from the living room and dining room, just need to trim the neighbors trees a bit more and the view would be spectacular. Neighborhood is quiet and very walkable to downtown Pacific Grove. Would stay here again."

“Perfect Location For Multiple Families Or A Group Of Friends
This home looks small from the outside but you will be shocked when you start exploring! There is an entire
downstairs with a humongous bedroom and additional family room for watching movies etc. Plus there are 3 sinks and 2 showers making it extremely easy for a larger group to get ready. You can walk to the beach or extremely close drive to fabulous restaurants and shops. There are just so many lovely touches throughout the house from the coffee bar to wine waiting for your arrival. I highly recommend.”

“Wonderful Vacation Home!
As we entered the house, we were impressed with the bright airy rooms with large windows and tall ceilings. The house was decorated beautifully. The 3 yr old loved to go in the back yard where there were several large trees, and others enjoyed sitting outside on the balcony looking out on the back yard to watch the blue jays. The lower level had a lot of room and allowed flexible arrangements of the sleeping area to fit our needs perfectly. The dining area on the main floor had a long banquet table that accommodated our whole group. The property was well maintained and the manager was very responsive to any calls we made. The description and picture was accurate. The land slopes down towards the back yard allowing room for a second level and guest house under the first level. So there is more room than it may seem from looking at the picture of the front of the house. It was a delightful place to stay.”

Wonderful house. Fit our needs very nicely. Within walking distance to everything! We wish we would've known about the huge backyard and patio area which we could've used for a larger party if we had known in advance. We'll know for next time.”

“Loved The Gas Fireplace And The Spectacular Dining Room.
Our son is in the Air Force and the family gathered in Monterey to attend his graduation from Language School. We have never rented a house before and I am pleased to say that we were very happy with our experience and would definately do it again! This "lighthouse" home was very clean and it was equipped with everything we needed. The description of the property was accurate and there were no surprises other than the PLEASANT surprise of what a truly comfortable and homey property this is. We especially enjoyed the gas fireplace on the cool mornings and evenings. The dining room is spectacular and accommodated our whole family for dinners. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of dishes, glasses, bowls etc. It was nice to have the two living spaces (the living room upstairs and the family room downstairs) so there were different places to congregate. We were glad to have the washer and dryer available and there was even laundry soap provided. My parents enjoyed the guest apartment and it was nice for them to be able to have their own space. The backyard was essential for us for Ladder Ball playing. The property manager was really easy to work with and I appreciated her prompt responses when I contacted her. We had a problem with connecting to the internet at the home and she was almost immediately over to fix the problem. Our entire experience was very smooth from start to finish.”

“Pre Wedding Vacation Rental
We rented this house for 3 days for the bridal party and parents. It was conveniently located for walking to nearby shops and restaurants, and a bit of a longer walk to the beach. It was large enough to afford everyone in our party of 8 some personal space. The young adults with us got a kick out of the dorm-style bath/shower room downstairs with two showers and three sinks. The studio was great for my husband and I so we could have our privacy. The kitchen was very well equipped. The backyard was large, and was the only place accessible for someone in a wheelchair however, so its not a great place for someone with mobility issues. This seemed to be the case for many properties in the area so we were happy to find we could access the backyard for a family dinner.”

“Pacific Grove Perfection!
We enjoyed so many things about our weekend at the Lighthouse Sanctuary! The house was spacious enough for everyone to have plenty of room to spread out and relax. We had everything we needed - the owners simply thought of everything to make our stay easy and stress-free. I can't think of one thing we needed and didn't have. Great living, dining and sleeping areas with doors and windows that opened up to the fresh coastal air. Just a short walk to restaurants and businesses in PG and the coast. A dog-friendly rental - woot!!! We'd love to visit here again.”

Perfectly located in Pacific Grove, this home has a great layout for adults and children. Near downtown, it also is close to golf, beach, Carmel, 17-Mile Drive, shopping, restaurants. The home is surprisingly large and the layout is ideal for multiple family reunions with upstairs living, eating, sleeping. The downstairs is perfect for sleeping, games, kids, etc. Large backyard for play and bbq. It is very clean with a well-equipped kitchen. Our 13 people had a wonderful reunion. I rented this home for my family's stay during my wedding weekend. Every expectation was surpassed! This home was the perfect setting for the entire family to catch up and make memories. I also used this home to doll myself up for the wedding and the pictures were amazing. The windows in the dining room allowed for the sun to shine in and it was beautiful. “Perfect Location, Beautiful Home
We stayed here the final week of March 2014. I'm the coach of a women's college golf team, so we had seven young women and myself at the house. We had more than enough room - what a wonderful dining room for large-group dinners. The girls enjoyed the upstairs fireplace to hang out, listen to music and read, as well as the downstairs TV+DVD for movie-watching. We also made good use of the grill and patio area, and loved being able to walk to downtown Pacific Grove for window shopping, a cup of coffee or merely to explore. The coach enjoyed having his own small apartment downstairs!”

“50th Anniversary Celebration
This was a wonderful house to have our whole family together for our 50th anniversary celebration. The location is such that everyone found some of their favorite activities nearby. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking. The yard is large with nice barbeques. The beds and linens are sooo comfortable. Sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine was beautiful. We certainly enjoyed our time there. Our only complaint is that our visit ended too soon.”

We loved our stay at the Lighthouse in Pacific Grove. With the guest suite at the back, this house easily accommodated our group of 10 (6 adults and 4 children) with room to spare. “Perfect House For Large Group! Lovely Too.
My partner and I, with five friends, recently enjoyed a nearly perfect weekend at the Sanctuary in Pacific Grove. The house & attached studio apt are spacious enough for a large group that wants to enjoy meals & conversation together in a comfortable common space while also having private space for naps, reading and quiet reflection. I can't say enough good things about the house... from the Spanish revival architecture, lovely & comfortable furnishings, well equipped kitchen, large dining room, the floor to ceiling living room windows that frame redwood trees in the yard, and spotlessly clean too. The owners have thought of almost everything. We've rented many vacation homes in Northern California and the Sanctuary by far is our favorite. Julia was very helpful and accommodating. Our only disappointment was the queen bed in the studio... my friends who slept there found it too soft and saggy. Perhaps a new mattress is in order. Although the house does not have a hot tub, it is near other spas. We enjoyed a morning at Refuge in Carmel Valley which I also highly recommend. Thank you!”

“A Wonderful, Comfortable Home Environment
We rented this home for our yearly family vacation. There were 6 adults and 7 children. The home suited our needs perfectly, with ample sleeping space, eating space, and place for entertainment and TV. The backyard was an added bonus, for the kids to get out and play and burn off some energy. The home was clean and nicely decorated, and stocked well to suit our needs. Close proximity to shopping and eating. We had a deer in our front yard one afternoon. We loved the home. Would definitely use it again.”

“Pleased In Pacific Grove
We were passing through on our way to our mom's 90th birthday party, with a 4 day stay in Monterey. The house was beautiful. We had 9 adults and 4 little grand daughters. We fit nicely. The girls loved the back yard play area. The location was central to everything we were interested in seeing. The kitchen was really well stocked. The kitchen is a little small but we managed, just not a lot of work space.
We walked to Lover's Point, golfing was close, everyone could enjoy what they wanted without having to go very far. Would definitely do it again. Julia, the property manager had the beds arranged perfectly for us and even a crib for our youngest. She was super to work with. My grand daughters think I'm the greatest because I got a "pink" house to stay in! Thanks for everything.”

This was the perfect home for the bride's family to occupy during preparation for and after wedding in Carmel. There were enough sleeping areas to accommodate immediate family and matron of honor with husband. Plenty of space for bridal party to get hair/make up done and get dressed. Back yard provided a beautiful area for pictures.
House was clean and very well supplied with towels and kitchen supplies.
Great place for a group.”

Family from all over (FL, MA, CO) met and stayed for 3 nights at the house to celebrate a baby shower for a family member (my daughter) who lives in PG. “Beautiful Home With Large Backyard And Short Walk To Town
This home was great for our family. The large back yard was a great way for our two little ones to burn off some energy. However, if you are bringing little ones be prepared to do some baby proofing. We had nine adults and three children staying here and we were comfortable. The kitchen is small but the dining area is large and overlooks the back yard. We were in town for a wedding held at the Carmel mission and that was a short drive away. This is a nice centrally located house. The house manager had great customer service and was in contact with us during our stay to make sure everything was going ok. The house is very clean with nice linens and towels. “Beautiful House For Lots Of Individuals
We stayed at this house for a 12 person staff retreat for my non-profit. It was perfect for us because we everyone was there on their own and we are a fairly young staff, so we could separate the beds and everyone was comfortable. 2 of the beds are in the living areas so it does tend to get crowded. It'd be more comfortable for 9 individuals or 4 couples.
That all said I stayed there for almost a week with the retreat and just to work. It was beautiful and well equipped. It truly felt like a vacation even though I was working due to the comfort, gorgeous setting, easy access to town, and relaxing environment. I would definitely recommend this spot to others looking for a nice getaway.”
