Welcome to “Bayview-by-the-Sea Monarch Suite”! Home sleeps up to 4 adults and 2 children age 12 and under.

Ask our Reservationists about two days for the price of one admission tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium when you book this home!

This 1100 square feet, two-bedroom one-bath flat may be rented separately as part of the three-in-one executive residence or combined with one or both of the other 600 square feet, one-bedroom, one-bath flats that are located on the property. There are sweeping bay views from the living, dining and kitchen windows and there is Old World charm in the interior finishes and furniture that was chosen. This beautiful residence has had its interiors totally renovated from the ground up sparing no expense and the attention to detail is comparable to a 5 star hotel. Newly updated with hardwood floors and rich earth-toned interiors.

This flat has custom Old World-style antiqued cabinets, stainless steel appliances, a chef’s dream kitchen and 2 flat-screen HDTVs. All of the furniture is high-end, combining style and comfort with the look of Europe with a modern flair.

Located on a quiet tree-lined street and within walking distance of Asilomar State Beach, Pebble Beach’s famed 17 Mile Drive and the Pacific Grove golf links, the flat is also a short 5-minute drive to the heart of downtown Pacific Grove, with antique shops, restaurants and boutiques to explore.

Large west-facing windows not only let in light, but also give visitors superb views of the Monterey Bay. During the winter months, migrating whales can be glimpsed on the waters of the bay, and any time of year, sunsets and night time vistas of twinkling lights around the bay add romance to the scene.

Beach daisies and juniper bushes surround the flat, in addition to the native live oaks and Monterey pines that frame the views.

Upon your arrival you will be greeted with complementary wine and cheese, tickets for a wine tasting at Scheid Vineyards’ tasting room in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, spa robes and beach gear.

Relax in front of the rustic stone gas fireplace with a 50” flat-screen HDTV positioned above. Bordered by a sectional queen sleeper sofa that sleeps 1-2 children and ottoman coffee table for additional seating, it’s perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. For dinner or drinks, move either to the round dining room table with bay views, or take refreshments outside to a private deck with a gas barbecue grill and patio seating. There is a built-in wall cabinet with granite counter top that holds wine and champagne glasses for easy entertaining. The kitchen, which has state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances, custom cabinetry and granite counter tops, includes convenient counter seating with bar stools, an easy way to enjoy breakfast, lunch or quick snacks.

Each bedroom offers a king bed with a memory foam topper that can be converted into twins. The bathroom is highlighted with tumbled travertine floors and complementary tile work in the shower-over-tub enclosure. Guest room #2 (not master) has a TV. Additional sleeping is available on the queen sleeper sofa for 1-2 children.

For additional accommodations: Monarch Suite and Regent Suite (#3639) are located on the same floor. Regent Suite has a mirrored twin above it, Admiral Suite (#3640). One, two or all three units can be rented separately or together.

There is a small garage for each unit and a covered one-car carport for Monarch Suite guests.

"Would stay here again! Great for family of 6!  I recommend this property and location. Listing and pictures were accurate. Good size for family of 6- stayed 5 days. Teenagers used guest room, 9 and 10 year old slept on fold out (a little snug). Very clean and well maintained. Clear instructions and directions, overall great customer service. Good parking with garage or on street. About 10 minute walk to water. Short drive to Monterey/Cannery Row/Aquarium, Pacific Grove coast and state parks. Easy drives to Carmel and Hwy 1. Thought we would enjoy deck and table and chairs but was too cold so we enjoyed fireplace instead!"

"Home away from home.  Sanctuary Vacation Rentals was such a pleasure to book with and their customer service was impeccable. Our booking started off with a slight misunderstanding which resulted in us booking a place that was a bit too small for us. However, their representative called me right away and helped me cancel the rental and even helped me find a better alternative rental that was larger to accommodate us. The whole experience was very organized and upon arriving at the place, they had wine and cheese and a really nice note waiting for us and we felt at home. You can tell that maintaining high quality is very important to the company and the care and thoughtfulness was felt throughout. We would absolutely love to book the place through them again."

"Amazing property, comfortable and welcoming.  If you think it looks good on the site, it is better in person. There were two of us, but four could comfortably stay...maybe even six. The views from the front of the house were amazing, the home comfortable and inviting, and well equipped. Close to everything especially the most beautiful walk along the coast...a walk during which I encountered no fewer than 15 deer just walking the neighborhood too. I am ready to come back next year."

"Lovely stay! Our family enjoyed the Bayview-by-the-Sea Monach suite very much. The accommodation was great for our family of four (adults) - the layout, the decoration, the cleanliness, the bedroom configuration optioins, the kitchen set up, the fireplace and the quiet neighbourhood were all great. We enjoyed the quiet location, the private deck, the gardens, simple access to the town and the ambience of tame wildlife (a family of young deer) roaming the nearby yards. The Monarch Butterfly sanctuary around the corner and the pedestrian running paths with fabulous views all made our stay very nice for all of us. Also the communication before our arrival, upon arrival and post visit from the host organization was clear, prompt and appreciated."

"Beautiful Monterey area rental! This property was the perfect place for our Monterey area golf vacation. It was centrally located to our golf outings in Monterey and Carmel, and also close to many great restaurants in Pacific Grove, Carmel and Pebble Beach. We also cooked in several times, enjoying the well-appointed kitchen and dining area. The king bed was comfortable, the bathroom spacious, and the fireplace cozy for the cool evenings and mornings. We appreciated being able to travel with our small dog, who was very comfortable there too!

“A great month! My wife and I travel somewhere different every year, and frequently I like wherever we are so much that I suggest that we could live in that location. This is the first year that she has agreed with me. Great weather, fantastic options for hiking, biking and golf, cool aquarium, nice dining, Big Sur, whale watching and using Bayview By The Sea Monarch as our base all made for a great month. The house was recently renovated and suited our needs perfectly. The well equipped kitchen, gas fireplace, entertainment system, comfortable bedrooms and patio helped create a nice place to hangout for us and the guests we had visiting about half of our stay in Pacific Grove. Trish, our property manager from Sanctuary Vacation Rentals, was very quick to respond to the few problems we had, and the owner even came by to make sure that a sound system upgrade and a new television in the 2nd bedroom were working well. There are also two one-bedroom apartments in the unit, but, except for seeing each other in the shared laundry room or in driveway, we barely knew the other guests were there. Pacific Grove and The Monarch could very well be the first vacation spot we go to in consecutive years!”

"Cozy Comfortable Home With A View! We enjoyed our clean and cozy house with excellent amenities and a beautiful view of the bay. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook wonderful meals. Having access to a laundry room is a plus. "Upon arrival, the house was in immaculate condition. I felt like I got to stay in a model home! The neighborhood is gorgeous! So serene and beautiful. Each morning there was a family of 5 deer walking down the street. The Asilomar Beach is just minutes away. Literally a 10 minute stroll through the neighborhood. There are cute Victorian cofee and ice cream parlors just down the street followed by a few little stores. Monterey and Cannery Row are only a 6 minute drive. This house is in the perfect spot for a vacation rental. It's away from all the madness, but still very close to it all. The vacationrental owners provided a welcome book that came in handy for those of us who don't know the area. We would definitely consider coming back and renting this property again due to its ideal location and superb customer care from Sanctuary Rentals. Thank you so much for allowing us the honor of staying in your Monarch Suite. It was over the top."

"Beautiful And Comfortable! What a beautiful property! Everything was gorgeously updated, from the beds, to the kitchen, to the furniture and tvs. What a comfortable place in a perfect location, close to town and the ocean. The kitchen was breathtaking with the finest in appliances. Even the place settings at the dining table were beautiful. The gas fireplace was really nice and cozy. The TV was great because it a had a feature that allowed us to watch our favorite tv shows from home. The beds were really comfortable and the linens top notch. It was like staying in a fancy hotel. The sectional couch was so comfortable, we fell asleep on it in the evenings by the fire. A perfect rental. Trish and the rest of the staff were really nice and on top of helping us fix things. We hope to stay here again."

“Incredible Stay! Pictures obviously show beautiful place and it's every bit as nice as pictures indicate. Absolutely worth the cost, very luxurious yet cozy. Beds are extremely comfortable, great communication with rental team and property concierge, very clean, would be great for couples, families, etc. Location is good, technology was great (TVs, sound system, wireless, etc.) and easy to use, no concerns/negatives at all. Will definitely rent this unit/others from this team again on our next trip to the area.”

“A House Of Peace. The experience from start to finish was excellent. A seasoned hospitality professional, and road warrior I spend too many nights in hotels to even imagine staying in a hotel on vacation. New to the home rental process, working with Sanctuary Vacation rentals was a blessing. Professional and very service focused my friends and I knew we had made the right choice. There where larger homes at less money, but 3638 captured our interest from the beginning. Wow, what a great place to unwind. We came to the area to attend the Monterey Jazz festival and truly enjoyed every minute of our time. The first to arrive, I enjoyed several house of solitude on the deck and preparing a nice repast for my friends who would arrive later. The only draw back to the experience was that we did not book enough time and should have selected airports closer to the area. The home was clean, comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed the fireplace watching movies and the kitchen, what a special treat. Both my friend and I are excellent cooks and love a great kitchen, I would love to stay there again just for the kitchen experience. On the next to the bay area we will reach out to Sanctuary Vacation Rentals first.”

The complimentary wine and cheese on arrival were a nice touch. The house is on a quiet street, approx 1km from the sea - an excellent location for running and cycling. The house itself is lovely, with a well-equipped and modern kitchen, two comfortable bedrooms in which my wife and I, and our two young boys, slept brilliantly, an excellent bathroom, and good home entertainment system. The house has on- and off-street parking. It is located approx 1 mile from Pacific Grove and 2 miles from Monterey. We would definitely recommend others to stay here.”
