Tranquil views of the Monterey Bay await guests who enter this charming two-story home in Pacific Grove, where from the master bedroom you can watch fishing boats and whales by day, and city lights at night.

The newly renovated 1,800-square-foot residence features vintage charm along with modern conveniences, including a spacious kitchen, hardwood floors on the ground level, and remodeled Restoration Hardware-style bathrooms. It’s also just a few blocks to walk to the beach, the Monterey Bay Recreation Trail, or to downtown for movies, restaurants and shopping.

Also within walking distance are Lover’s Point, Cannery Row, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It’s only 10 minutes by car to the boutiques and galleries of Carmel-by-the-Sea or to golfing and sightseeing in Pebble Beach, and about 40 minutes to the natural glories of Big Sur.

The 3-bedroom, 2-bath pet-friendly home on a quiet, tree-lined street features coastal/nautical décor, a fully-appointed kitchen, a fenced backyard with comfortable outdoor seating and a gourmet gas grill, and ocean views from the upstairs master bedroom.

Upon your arrival, you will be greeted with complimentary cheese and wine or sparkling cider, wine tasting passes and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, as well as spa robes, and beach gear with everything you need for a day at the beach, including chairs, blankets, towels, umbrella and cooler.

The shingle-sided house with a rustic river rock chimney has been updated inside in many ways. Guests entering through the front door will find themselves in the living room, which has comfortable seating around a gas fireplace with a marble and wood surround. This cozy spot is perfect for playing games, reading or watching the 36-inch HDTV.

A dining area for six at a farmhouse-style table features views of the fenced yard, landscaped with flowering shrubs and accessible through a sliding glass door. Just outside is a patio seating area and a gourmet gas grill for afternoon barbecues.

The dining area is conveniently adjacent to the large kitchen, which features custom cabinetry, easy-care solid-surface countertops, a five-burner Creda gas cooktop, a Bosch dishwasher, a wall oven and a double sink with separate hot water spigot and a pull-out faucet. Plenty of storage space is available for stowing groceries and other items in a large pantry area.

At the back of the house is a laundry room with washer, dryer and deep sink, with access from the back patio. This is ideal for beachgoers who don’t want to track sand throughout the house. Beach items are also stored here.

A bedroom on the ground floor features a queen bed with a wooden headboard and floral bedspread. A recently remodeled bathroom includes a vintage-look vanity, marble and subway tile, and hexagonal floor tiles, with a shower over a deep soaking tub.

The carpeted second floor includes a sitting/office area with a comfy upholstered chair and ottoman and a table for computer work. French doors from the sitting area lead to a protected second-story balcony with bistro seating.

Across from this area is the master bedroom, which offers a king bed looking out through large windows for beautiful views of the bay both day and night. The upstairs bathroom resembles the downstairs bath, with vintage-look vanity, and marble and subway tile and a tub-shower combo, as well as a skylight. A nearby bedroom with a queen bed also has peeks of the bay through the trees.

Parking for two vehicles is available in the driveway.

"Upon arrival to a (different) rental - we discovered the house was not to our liking. I called the Sanctuary office and spoke to Josh the GM. He was very understanding and worked diligently to find us another house right then and there. Though the Sea Otter House was not yet ready to rent as it was a new house to their rental program, Josh got his maintenance team over immediately to prepare the house for our arrival. A few hours later Josh met us at 3779 Sea Otter - a lovely house to welcome us in. Prior to our arrival Josh was genuine, kind and kept us in the loop throughout the afternoon via his cell. Sea Otter? GREAT house! Clean, updated, fresh and welcoming. Kitchen stocked very well, as were all the bathrooms. Not one complaint to share. We give this house 5 Stars too! Josh I cannot thank you enough! Your care, and spot on attendance to our needs made my birthday weekend something I will remember always. Thank YOU so very much. PS Rest of the staff at Sanctuary we dealt with were also considerate and attentive. I highly recommend this rental company."
