Beautiful gardens surrounded by a white picket fence and a traditionally styled Carmel cottage await guests who want a location that’s close to everything, yet part of a peaceful neighborhood that’s close to downtown.

The 1,550 sf, 3-bedroom, 2-bath home is just a few blocks from Carmel’s famed Ocean Avenue and other attractions. It’s also just 10 minutes by car to the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach®, to Monarch butterfly sightings in Pacific Grove, or to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. Other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village.

Living Space
Traditional cottage-style décor with antique furniture, floral fabrics and vintage objects throughout salute the Carmel of the past. Large windows that let in generous amounts of natural light also make it possible to enjoy the sight of the gardens from almost every room in the house, and hardwood floors and original artwork add special grace notes.

Guests enter under an ivy-covered arch and take a path past hydrangeas, succulents, ferns and lily of the Nile, which leads to a small brick patio and the front door. Guests enter the home into a great room combining the living room and dining area. The living room features a gas fireplace with log insert. Surrounded by a sofa and comfortable chairs, it’s a perfect place to sit and read books from the home’s small library, or to watch the 42-inch HDTV.

Kitchen and Dining
Adjacent to the living room is the dining room, with a wooden table near a garden-facing window that seats six. The nearby kitchen features a butcher block kitchen island, white tile countertops, dark green cabinetry and a custom designed stove backsplash in blue, white and yellow. Stainless steel appliances include a four-burner gas stove and a refrigerator with French doors.

A door from an eat-in area of the kitchen opens onto the back patio, which features beautiful live oaks and a tall ivy-covered fence for privacy, a perfect setting for dining al fresco at a sturdy outdoor table and barbecuing on a gourmet gas grill. Several other seating areas and benches can be found throughout the gardens.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Bedroom #1 offers a queen bed with floral coverlet, vintage furniture and décor, and an antique vanity table with a large mirror.
Bedroom #2 features two twin beds with matching coverlets and wicker headboards, as well as a handy desk for catching up on computer work.
The nearby hallway bathroom has a tub/shower combination and large adjustable shower head.
Bedroom #3 has a full-sized bed, an antique armoire and vanity table, and floral coverlet.
The adjacent three-quarter bathroom has a tiled shower stall.

A stacked washer and dryer are in a utility room off the kitchen.

Parking for 1-2 vehicles is available on the quiet, dead-end street. Additional parking is located one block away.

Well-behaved small dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum.

This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner.
