What Makes Us Special

All our houses have been updated and are tastefully decorated. The owner of Sanctuary Vacation Rentals, Annee Martin, is an interior designer and her husband is an Architect. Annee used to co-own the well-known "Inn at the Round Barn Farm" in Waitsfield, Vermont and has been in the hospitality field for over 25 years. She is known for her attention to detail and the many special touches she puts into all the vacation homes.

Every home has its own personal house manager/concierge who communicates with the guest before, during and, if needed, after the guest has left. The house manager makes sure the house is spotless and takes care of the many special details that Sanctuary Vacation Rentals is known for. The manager will try to accommodate early check-ins and late checkouts whenever possible. Some of the homes are managed by the owner and they will meet the guest at the house and give them a personal tour and orientation.

Each home has a video-virtual tour and plenty of pictures to help guests in making their selection and finding the perfect vacation home.

We are able to accommodate large groups in some of our bigger homes and have many homes that are in close proximity to each other. Most of the houses have forms that can be filled out ahead of time in order to provide flexibility for the group's specific sleeping needs. Some of the homes have twin beds that can be made into king beds and many homes have sleeper couches, trundle beds and aero beds are available.

The reservation process is user friendly. Guests have the option to pay on line and are able to read the detailed contract before paying. Once they accept, an electronic signature guarantees their reservation with payment. Guests are notified when the second deposit is due and the guests are able to receive receipt of payments in a timely manner.

In most of the homes the guests are greeted by a bottle of wine or sparking cider, hors d'oeuvre and a friendly welcome with hand written personal note. Many of our guests comment on how welcome they felt.

There is a Welcome Book available at each home that explains everything you need to know about the house and how things work. Sanctuary Vacation staff are very patient, and available, in answering questions and helping guests get the information they need to have a great vacation.

Sanctuary Vacation Rentals are somewhere between a fine resort and a hotel with many wonderful amenities while providing all the comforts of your own home. Everything a guest needs and more can be found at the house. Guests need only arrive with their suitcases. Most of our homes have beach gear, towels, umbrellas, and ice chests so that our guests can spend a day at the beach without having to purchase these items. Some homes provide portable grills to take to the beach and many local beaches allow fires. Every house has an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, and games and cards for the family.

All the homes have comfortable beds, lovely bedding and luxury linens. Most homes provide hypoallergenic bedding, dust mite and bed bug protection on pillows and mattresses.

Most houses provide passes for complementary wine tasting at a value of $10 each.

All of our homes are well stocked and provide paper products needed to start your vacation. These items are paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, saran wrap, tin foil and baggies.

Special amenities include packets of local organic coffee/decaf to start your first morning, along with sugar, teas, Splenda, salt and pepper.

Sanctuary Vacation Rentals invites all our guests to leave comments in the Guest Book and post a review on line, sharing information and insider-tips for other potential guests to read.

We ask for constructive feedback and we are always making changes to improve our services. Service is very important to us.

Most of the homes have Spa Amenities including spa robes, slippers and spa products. There are free Spa on the Plaza tickets for a $30 value that allow you to use all the facilities including a gym, sauna, hot tub for one day and Guests may add on special packages for services such as massage and pedicure at a locals rate.

All homes have baskets of local information, maps, guides, and books and the staff and house managers are happy to recommend their favorite or locals favorite places to eat or visit.

All the properties are equipped with lanterns, flashlights, along with battery operated candles for safety and corded telephones, and should there be a power outage.

Every house has a lock box or key coded doors that allows for flexible arrival time. There is no need to go to an office for keys by a certain time on the day of your arrival.

Most kitchens are called a "Chef's Dream Kitchen" with everything you need to create a gourmet meal. There is everything you need to set a beautiful table with placemats, napkins, napkin rings, serving dishes and platters.

Many of the homes are pet friendly and even the dogs get a welcome treat.

The office/reservation staff answer the phone 7 days a week – 12 hours a day and guests are given multiple phone numbers should anything happen or they need help.

Most of the properties are in excellent locations and are near the beach, golf courses, or walking distance to town.

If any problem occurs during a guests stay it will be addressed immediately. We do our best to handle any unforeseen problems in a timely fashion and with as little inconvenience to our Guests as possible.  We always place our guest experience at the top of our list.

Property Protection and Travel insurance are both offered should a guest have to cancel or an accident happens during their stay, making it a win-win for everyone. The small fee will cover most incidents.

In many of our homes there is no large security deposit collected ahead of time nor held after departure (note that credit cards are requested to be on file).

Most homes are child friendly and have gates if there are stairs and plugs for outlets. We work with a child concierge service that will drop off and pick up all child-related items including car seats, pack n plays, high chairs, etc.

If a cancellation occurs within the 60 days, which is our deadline for refunding deposits, we do our best to help re-rent it and try to help the guest get back some portion of their deposit.
