Sanctuary Vacation Rentals is proud to present “Storybook Cottage!” This home sleeps up to 6 guests.

You'll be enchanted from the moment you lay eyes on this 2-story, 1268 square feet, 4-bedroom 2-bath cottage with its warm wheat-colored stucco exterior accented with soft-green shutters and trim, white picket fence and front yard planted in colorful flowering natives. The entire home has been updated to perfection and is furnished with a casually sophisticated decor.

The great room has a gas fireplace, dark hardwood floors, sand-colored walls, white draperies and a white ceiling crisscrossed with dark brown beams. Arched doors and decorative accents throughout add to the magic of this unique cottage.

The living room has two comfortable white sofas, an upholstered arm chair and an ottoman that serves as a coffee table or extra seating, all atop a floral area rug. There's a 42" HDTV with Blu-Ray Disc Player, a small video collection and a small library.

The nearby dining area has a pine-topped farm-style table and a bench plus 6 chairs.

The renovated kitchen is equipped with everything a chef could want to create gourmet meals. Among the features: white granite counter tops, gray cabinetry, a central island, white tile floors in a honeycomb pattern and an antiqued hutch. Stainless steel appliances include a gas range in the central island, an oven, side-by-side refrigerator and a dishwasher. A nook holds a stacking washer-dryer behind a wooden door. French doors from the kitchen open to a side yard, with lawn enclosed by a 6’ redwood fence, which has a gas grill and a table for 6.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The 2nd story has 3 bedrooms and 1 bath.
Bedroom #1 is handsomely appointed and has glimpses of the water between trees. The bedroom is furnished with a queen bed with quality linens, bedside tables with wrought iron bases shaped like tree branches, an antique oak dresser, 2 small trunks, and a carved-wood-framed chair upholstered in a white and blue floral pattern.

Bedroom 2 has two twins which convert to a split king with memory foam topper, with quality linens, a patterned area rug and 2 white dressers.

Bedroom #3 has a full/double bed with quality linens, white floral quilted coverlet, white wooden bedside tables and a small desk. A corner window reveals whitewater crashing on Lover's Point in the distance.

The upstairs bathroom has a small shower with tan and brown checkerboard-patterned tiles, a white tiled floor and a free-standing ceramic sink with an oval mirror.

Downstairs, relax with a book on a white wrought-iron trundle bed in Bedroom #4. The trundle, which has a white coverlet and embroidered pillows, can sleep 1-2. This room also includes a wing-back chair, two small wrought iron tables, a wrought-iron lamp and a floral area rug.

A small pass-through bathroom between the kitchen and Bedroom #4 has a small shower with white honeycomb tile, a free-standing ceramic sink and a commode.

One small car can be parked in the garage or in the driveway; on-street parking is available. Everything is provided for a day at the beach, located only 5 minutes away. The aquarium is about 20 minutes away on foot.

Well-behaved dogs under 25lbs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum.

This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner.

Overall Comment

This was a great home and location for the several months we stayed there. It was so nice to have 4 separate rooms during this extended stay. The rooms are small but very comfortable and nicely decorated as is the whole house. The house has an amazing outdoor space- backyard with a patio table as well as a gated front yard with a fence to enjoy the beautiful weather! Really nice and also unique to have a garage as well. The home also has a very good heating system downstairs which we enjoyed. The only negative would probably be the upstairs shower which was small.But perhaps best of all is Sanctuary Vacation Rental because they were always so responsive and easy to reach for any issue that may have come up. They do a great job cleaning and caring for the rentals as we have seen over the years renting from them.

We had a lovely time at our little storybook cottage - the neighbors were welcoming and the home was unique and had everything we needed. Walks to the beach became our daily ritual and we enjoyed the birds and fresh air. The rooms were a good size, kitchen well stocked with equipment and the wifi worked great for the days we needed to work. We plan to visit again.

Overall Comment

It's 2020, and after hunkering down at home near San Francisco for most of six months we decided to "shelter in another place" for a month or so. The benefits of a change of scenery were felt almost immediately and I highly recommend doing this! You basically can't hope for a better place to be. A quiet street with the ocean at a slight distance but on view right at the end of the block. A really lovely neighborhood for walking the dog. Less than 10 minute walk to the coastal trail. Near to so much good stuff, restaurants, trails, views, but also a total private little hideaway. My husband and I both worked from there and the internet there kept up with us nicely. A beautiful, well stocked kitchen. The nicest neighbor I've ever had anywhere, who made us feel so welcome (you'd understand if he was skeptical about living next door to a vacation rental!). A sweet little front yard. The backyard and view from there are way better than the photos even show (our dog, Howie misses that backyard so much now). If I had to nitpick so you don't think I'm lying, there wasn't much in the way of pantry space, and the beds are slightly past their prime but seriously... we stopped and said how great this place is at least once a day while we were there.
