For over 65 years, Monterey Jazz has been committed to celebrating America’s creativity and cultural heritage by presenting legendary jazz musicians, timeless composers, and young rising stars.

Established  in 1958, Monterey Jazz has grown from a single weekend on the Monterey County Fairgrounds into a year-round nonprofit dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and advancing jazz. The Monterey Jazz Festival is the longest continuously-running jazz festival in the world and remains our cornerstone, with nearly 3,000 performances across 69 years.

Today, our work extends far beyond the stage through education programs, artist support, and community engagement that sustain jazz for future generations. Though Jazz Appreciation Month is celebrated each April, jazz lives here year-round and we’re thankful for the ever-growing community that keeps it thriving.
