This is a beautiful home with wonderful patio and garden area to relax outdoors. Close to downtown and beaches. Home was beautifully furnished, amazing kitchen with everything we needed to prepare meals. Wine, cheese and crackers was a nice welcome gift. We were able to get a late check out. Thanks, it was greatly appreciated. Hope to return soon.

Loved the house, location and amenities. We've rented several homes over the years but this one provided extra shampoo, conditioner, dishwasher pods, garbage bags etc. Most don't so that was nice to see. House was very clean and comfy. Would absolutely rent this home again.

Magical Home in a Magical Town

This place was absolutely perfect for our 3 couples gathered to sirens time exploring the area. It felt like our own home. It was outfitted and cleaned perfectly, and we so appreciated the wine, cheese and crackers left for us! Other than perhaps offering some laundry detergent for our stay, there is NOTHING I could improve upon. Top notch home with top notch kitchen, two wonderful fireplaces, an awesome game room, an inviting patio, and so much more. We could walk easily to shops or the beach! We will be back, but we'll be smarter and stay longer!

Stone’s Throw was the cleanest, best-appointed rental house that we’ve ever stayed at. Everything from the game room (full of great books and puzzles) to the beautiful walk-in shower in the master bedroom, to the lovely and quaint succulent garden surrounding the house were perfect. We cannot recommend it highly enough and would most certainly make it a priority to stay there the next time we’re in Carmel.

Stone's Throw is a tastefully remodeled home with everything we needed for our stay. There were 6 of us and a dog with plenty of room to get together. It was spotlessly cleaned before our arrival. The rental company was very responsive and helpful. This house provided a comfortable space for us to enjoy the evenings after full days of hiking, birdwatching, shopping and enjoying the gorgeous Carmel beach.

Beautiful home with lovely furnishings and decor. Quiet neighborhood and an easy walk to downtown Carmel. We enjoyed the fireplaces, radiant heated floors in the bathroom, comfortable bed, and views of the garden from almost every window. Dream Vacation at Stone's Throw

Loved every minute of our stay at Stone's Throw. Immaculately clean, great layout and beautiful decor. Each bedroom had a bathroom. Downstairs semi-private bedroom/bath suite with french doors leading to private deck and yard, ideal for young couple with dogs. Spent alot of time in the kitchen and in front of the living room fireplace. Read in the cozy reading room and worked a puzzle and watched TV in the family room Even had a BBQ one night on the patio. Walked to beach with dogs and into town for meals. Went hiking at Point Lobos, drove to Big Sur and guys went golfing at Poppy Hills. Appreciated the warm welcome and complimentary snacks and wine. Barbara and other staff were welcoming, professional and a pleasure to work with. Thank you - We will be back!

Stone's Throw is One of the Best Vacation Rental Homes We've Ever Stayed In

Stone's Throw is one of the best vacation rental homes we've ever stayed in. The gardens and architecture are magical, a wonderful place to celebrate a special family birthday. The decor and furniture are great and beds very comfortable. The kitchen has absolutely anything you would need to prepare a nice meal.and they have Keurig, drip, and French press coffee makers. It was also nice to discover that the house has a subscription to YouTubeTV, which we discovered when we were frantically figuring out how to watch a Warriors playoff game. The only criticism I have is that their pet policy was incorrect on the VRBO listing, and we ended up needing to get special permission for our two dogs after booking on VRBO and paying a deposit. So if you have dogs, call and get clarification before you book the home. Also, this wasn't clear in the listing, but you can only bring two cars, as the garage is too small for most cars, other than something like a Mini Cooper, and there is no street parking.

Ever hope and pray that you will find the perfect get-a-way...we did with a Stones Throw in Carmel by the Sea! Perfectly appointed home, with incredible gardens, ample space within the home for party of 5 with warm and cozy interiors and plenty of light during the day, comfortable sleeping arrangements. It’s everything one might want, plus literally a short walk away from downtown. Our only reservation was...our trip wasn’t long enough. We will correct that next time. Thank you Sanctuary Vacations for this extraordinary opportunity.

Our rental was amazing. It was a charming cottage with everything you could possibly need. The rooms were good size, the kitchen was well appointed. If there were any issues the rental company was very quick to respond. The outside has a cute eating area where we would drink our morning coffee. The location to town and beach is walkable and we loved that. The fireplace was our favorite feature. The property was very clean exactly as described. We would love to stay at Stone's Throw again. We had a wonderful time.

Love Stones Throw. God created q little piece of Heaven on Earth and what a place to enjoy at Stones Throw. Like the new hairs in fireplace room the new couch in den and the huge new refrigerator. Everything works fine. The front pine tree by fence needs attention. One large limb off and other limb broken and resting on electrical lines.

Sweetest cottage imaginable

You never really know what’s in store for you when you rent a home based on photos and reviews and you’re almost 3000 miles away. What a relief it was when we arrived and this cottage wrapped itself around us and offered the peace and relaxation we came for:) Everything was immaculate, lovely, comfy and cozy. The beds were all very comfortable. The kitchen was easy to maneuver while cooking for thanksgiving and making everyday breakfast. We stayed for a month, hosting two grown daughters, their spouses and one grandchild for the first week. The layout was perfect for togetherness as well as privacy. We enjoyed walking to the beach and village at least once a day. Make sure to visit Rise and Roam Bakery for coffee, pastry and lunch items. And Buds in the Laplaya Hotel for good drinks, burgers etc... There are plenty of well known pricey restaurants in Carmel but our favorites were in Pacific Grove; Passion Fish and Taste Cafe. Our favorite hike was Point Lobos, The folks at Sanctuary Vacation Rentals were a pleasure to work with. Five stars all the way around!

"Stone’s Throw was booked to escape the Texas heat. You don’t expect your vision to be exceeded. Stone’s Throw is warm and cozy yet equipped to entertain. We thought we would have 2 quiet months with friends and then family rotating in and out. A proposal on the 9th led to nuptials and a friends ordained on the 21st. Then a dinner at Stone’s Throw after the ceremony. So to say Stone’s Throw is special to us would be an understatement! So many new friends now here in Carmel."

“What an interesting time to be in Carmel – We arrived March 1, 2020 – Just as COVID-19 was hitting and we were ordered to “shelter in place.” Being “stuck” in this darling cottage surrounded by the enchanting stone walled, lush gardens was like being in heaven! Our originally planned one month stay quickly became three months because of the virus. Lucky us! All restaurants were closed (except for some curbside pickup) so we stayed in and cooked. What a great, well-equipped kitchen. Dining on the patio was heavenly. This cottage is an architectural delight. How fortunate we were to “live” here – especially during this strange and challenging time!"
