This was the cleanest, best maintained, most widely appointed to all of our wants and needs, the cutest rental house I’ve ever enjoyed. There is far more room than it might appear from the outside and the entire home has been renovated in a period friendly way. Gorgeous. It has mot everything you could need or want in the kitchen and tucked away in closets, drawers and the garage is everything else. Trust me. It has everything you have at home and maybe more. The owners called to be sure we had everything we needed and when the block’s electricity went out, they called with info and brought flashlight. All that and it’s walkable to the beach. You can see the beach from the top level. Restaurants and shops are a block away.

Lavender house is a wonderful, happy place. It's tucked into a quiet street - serene but close to everything. Inside and out, it's thoughtfully done, down to the smallest detail. Host was responsive without being overbearing. I hope it's available next year - we'll be back!

We have come back to stay at the Lavender House for 3 years in a row now. Not only is it a beautiful home, but it is within walking distance to everything! The beach,farmer's market,shopping, and restaurants are 5-10 minutes away. The aquarium is a 25 minute walk, but it is along a beautiful paved path by the ocean. If you have children, their is a park right around the corner.

wonderful victorian retreat

We met our friends and stayed at Lavendar House for the Ren Sport Reunion at Laguna Seca. It was lovely to have a nice place to relax, so close to the beach. We were walking distance to some very nice restaurants. We loved walking on the beach and meeting other reunion attendees. It really felt like being home.

This is such a happy and welcoming home with a timeless elegance yet cozy and modernized for comfort. The host very generously left a delicious wine and cheese that absolutely delighted! The location is perfect, close to restaurants, shops, and two blocks from the ocean with easy bike path access to downtown Monterey. We had an amazing time, highly recommend The Lavender House!

The cottage is exactly as depicted in the website and if you’re a walker, accessible without driving your car to any of the Monterey area main attractions (Aquarium, for example, is a mostly seaside ocean stroll of 1.25 miles with otters and seals this time of year). Tons of local restaurants and a good fully stocked neighborhood market .3 miles away. Lots of attention to detail in the cottage renovation. Small, well-stocked kitchen appliances, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, some condiments. Really good parking for one vehicle although the space would be tight for a large pickup or SUV. Charming good for children or anyone who doesn’t mind a steep stair. Loft has nice peekaboo view of the bay. Easy and safe walking distance to the bay and tidal pools.

Decided to have a Galentines weekend with a few friends and we were so happy we were able to stay here. The house is so cute inside and out. Its walking distance from many great restaurants and local attractions. They’re also dog friendly which is always a plus! Definitely recommend staying here.

We loved this house! The house had everything and more than we needed, everything worked smoothly. The location is perfect - walking distance to local restaurants, shops and coastal walks. Very short drive to the Monterey Aquarium. Host was always available. We didn't need assistance as everything was so well prepared for us. We have visited Pacific Grove before and love the area. We will definitely stay here again.

Well-stocked and a cozy retreat with beautiful little accents throughout the home. Stairs were a little steep and all the sleeping arrangements are upstairs so may not be ideal for folks with mobility issues or small children. Our family enjoyed staying here regardless. Everything we needed was either a walk or a quick drive away. Don’t miss out on the 17-mile drive!

We and our pet dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lavender house. It was like entering a life-size doll house. Love the old style home and furnishings, but Wi-Fi was blazing fast. Though, I feel some will find the stairs challenging. You can't beat the location. It is walking distance to everything in PG. We appreciate feeling welcomed to the property and home immaculate it was when we arrived. From booking, to check in and check out, everything went flawlessly. Highly recommend this property.

darling house, perfect location

The house was perfect for our stay. Clean, well appointed and lovely features. The small backyard was great for our two dogs. The location was fantastic; just two minutes from downtown shops and restaurants and a short walk to Lovers Point. As others have said the driveway is tiny and on a tough angle but once you get the hang of it it’s easy enough. There is no street parking though. All in all it was just what we needed for a few days on the coast.

We rented the Lavender House for 3 nights. The location was perfect as we didn't drive at all! We were able to walk absolutely everywhere! The house was perfect for us as well. Clean, well stocked and had plenty of room for sitting and relaxing. We didn't use the outdoor area as it was a bit chilly during our stay.

This home has been exquisitely restored with attention to detail. Constructed in 1902, it retains the character of homes built in that era, but it also has all the modern conveniences we expect. Great wifi, fully equipped kitchen, even shampoo and soap in the bathrooms. The electric firplace was an added bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to come back.

Our family of four + grandma had a wonderful time at the Lavender House. It was a great combination of Victorian charm and modern conveniences. The location is perfect as there's so much to eat and do within a short 5 minute walk including a park right around the corner as a nice default thing to keep the kids busy between bigger activities.

location, location, location!!!

There were four us (two couples) sharing Lavender House. We drove down from San Francisco for our four night stay having made restaurant reservations prior to our arrival. We planned on breakfast and lunch at the house and supplemented what we brought down with a trip to the Farmers Market and the Grove market. The kitchen had limited storage for food that did not need refrigeration. One bedroom had very limited space to put clothing, other than that the house was well maintained and pretty well equipped. We were able to arrange for a noon check out which made a relaxing last morning. Do not miss having dinner at Passionfish, a short walk away. We parked the car in the driveway and walked everywhere including the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

cozy little gem in pacific grove!

The Lavender House in Pacific Grove couldn't have been a better place to spend my fiance's 50th bday. We were joined by another couple for our much anticipated three-day weekend getaway. There was plenty of room in the house. Super cozy, too. The pictures you posted online described the place perfectly. When we arrived everything was clean and ready for our stay. We were very satisfied with the accommodations. And although we didn't utilize the 3rd-floor, we could have comfortably had two more guests. The entire house was decorated beautifully. And everything worked! We didn't encounter one issue while we were there. We especially loved the electric fireplace!! �� But the one thing that stood out the most was its location. We were just a few minutes from the ocean. We pretty much walked everywhere. We were also able to take our little Chihuahua, which was a HUGE plus :) So convenient! There was plenty of room around the house for him to explore and do his business �� Thank you for making our weekend extra special! We'll definitely be going back!

We had a wonderful time in this comfortable and well-stocked home. We have rented many vacation rentals and this house has become our new favorite. This warm, inviting home made for a very relaxing stay. The beds were comfortable and the linens were soft and inviting. It is in a quiet location that is within easy walking distance of many area attractions.
Everything that we could possibly require was provided for us and the products were of excellent quality.
We marveled at the attention to detail that was given in the renovation of this house. We have never taken so many pictures of a vacation rental. We even photographed the door hardware because of the ornate design.
Beautiful Lavender House will be our vacation rental choice when we plan our next trip to Pacific Grove.

Our family of five had a wonderful stay at the Lavender House. The house was clean and we felt safe staying there. We would definitely come back to this house due to location and cleanliness of the place. The only thing we would love to have next time is a bigger cutting board. Other than that, we found everything we needed and we appreciate the extra HDMI cable in the drawer to hook up our notebook to the TV! Thank you for the little touches!

This home was exactly as shown in pictures and as described. The best thing about this home is the pride the management company has taken on every little detail. From the welcoming thank you note, to the notes on household directions, to the lavender soaps throughout the home. The home has plenty of laundry, hand soap and lotion, including shampoo and conditioner for your entire stay. The location of this home is superb. It’s centrally located to amazing restaurants and walking distance to the ocean. Two amazing restaurants is Passion Fish and Red House. We travel the world and those two restaurants we exquisite. The neighbors on all sides of the home were welcoming and helpful on recommendations. The yard is perfect for a small dog, but note there is an opening on the side of the home where your dog can get out. The homes is situated inside a small alleyway, so there isn’t much traffic at all. The bedding was comfortable, but we felt the beds weren’t super comfy. Although they say they are a sleep number bed we couldn’t get the remotes to work and they were lopsided. But we adjusted after a few nights. The driveway is small, our friends Audi fit, but nothing larger. The garage is a nice space for a small vehicle. We enjoyed our stay in this quaint historic home.

My family of 5 heartily enjoyed our stay. We cooked our whole Thanksgiving feast in the kitchen, which was well-equipped. The home was renovated, but kept Victorian charm. Parking for 2 cars was doable, but further guests would find parking a challenge, so heads up!
We would be happy to stay here again!
