Our stay at the Little House was perfect. I was staying with my sister and a friend. We like to cook, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the living room is a cozy place to hang out in the evenings. This was our second time staying at Little House. We will book it again next year.

My two close friends and I stayed here for a few nights to enjoy a peaceful birthday trip. This home was absolutely stunning and the perfect choice for us! The property is stunning and we were able to quietly walk down to the beach in the mornings and enjoy the sunrise. Quick walks to shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend this beautiful home for a peaceful stay!

perfect location and cute house

We’ve been visiting PG for the last 25 years and this is our first home stay. We spent a week here and wish we could stay more. The house was perfect for our family and dog. It was spotlessly clean and well stocked for anything you may need. Beds were very comfortable. Some beach chairs and a small cooler would have been appreciated. We loved the character of the home from 1888. I agree with most guests concerning access into the clawfoot tubs but that’s part of the charm. Neighborhood was quiet except for trash day. They sure get started early ��. The location made it easy to walk to downtown PG, the coastal trail and Cannery Row. Sanctuary was great the work with and there were no surprises. We’ll be back soon. Highly recommended.

the perfect little house for the week

The Little House is so quaint and has so much character. It’s very clean and the beds are comfortable. The rental company has thought of everything to make their guests comfortable - luxury hotel line bath towels, beach towels, Ecos Laundry Sheets, hand soap, body gel, shampoo, conditioner, Qtips, cotton balls, garbage bags, toilet paper and a roll of paper towels. Items like these are a bonus when traveling. We own a rental property and the extras go a long way with guests becoming repeat visitors. The kitchen is well
Stocked with everything except spices, so just be aware, if you choose to cook. This was not an issue for us, as we wanted to enjoy the amazing food Monterey and the surrounding area offers. One thing to note, if you are not very agile, getting in and out of the bathtub could pose a problem. This was not an issue for our family, but for an elderly individual, you may not be able to safely get in and out of the beautiful claw foot tub. What we loved most about the property is the proximity to the town/restaurants, Beach, Cannery Row, the Aquarium, and Fisherman’s Wharf. We walked everywhere and my husband and son drove the short distance to Pebble, Spy Glass, and Spanish Bay. Truly, the perfect location. Another bonus, the house had binoculars for guests to use. We did not see them until our last day and I read on various sites to bring a pair and we did pack our own. But, save space, another well thought item to use in the home. Highly recommend using them when you are in town. It is so nice to be able to see the sea life up close. Highly recommend this house and the management company. They are friendly and answer questions promptly. We made memories to last a lifetime and hope to return one day.

wonderful stay!

This house is less than a block from the water where you can look out and see otters and seals. It is a well-kept, comfortable house with all the amenities. The kitchen was great, has lots of room, and everything you need to cook. There's a nice backyard area with fire pit and BBQ which makes for a great gathering space. The beds were really comfortable. If you are looking to stay in Pacific Grove, this is a great choice!
As with all classic Victorians, it has a claw foot tub, which will create some problems for people with limited mobility or balance issues. I am short, which made it a challenge too. It's a big step in and a big step out. That was the only downside for us, and I can't complain about it because I knew about it going in.
There were a few very small things I contacted the property manager for and they were very quick to reply. Thank you!

proximity to the coast

This house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the king-sized bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The best part, however, was the proximity to the walking path along the breathtaking coastline. Our dog loved it too.

We loved this historic home, location and amenities.
The only downside for us were the old claw-footed bathtubs.
They look great and fit the old style, but for us they were very difficult to get in and out and I actually needed help not to slip.
While I know it would be a cost to the owner, putting a walk-in shower downstairs would allow older guests to really enjoy this wonderful home.
I guess because we stayed 5 nights, it was more of an issue.

We had a family gathering in Pacific Grove and stayed in the Little House. What a well kept lovely Victorian home. We were right next to the path to walk my dogs for hours. We took a surrey along the path...what a trip that was. Inside the home you will find all you need. I highly recommend staying here.

My husband and I have stayed here a couple of times with our doggie. Great location in a quiet neighborhood nice little yard for the dog, clean and comfortable. Other reviews have mentioned the shower, tub being precarious, and we agree with that. I would not recommend this house if you have any mobility issues, as it can be a danger.

My family of four including daughters 9 and 11 stayed here for four nights with the in-laws. Our family stayed upstairs and it was quite private from the downstairs. Everything was wonderful and the host was super responsive. My daughter spilled nail polish on a rug and shower curtain and I sent photos of the crime scene to the host and they were able to handle it and didn’t charge us which was very kind. I would stay here again.

Cute old house with comfortable beds and a nice location. Easy to walk to the area around the aquarium and easy access to coastal trail. Kitchen was well furnished. Do need to watch your head upstairs if you're >6 ft.

the little house was perfect
The Little House was perfect for our family of three as we explored Monterey Bay for a couple of days. The walk to the aquarium was short and peaceful, and there were plenty of coffee shops and lunch spots in walking distance. We use the grill to make dinner, and the kitchen had all the necessary amenities to cook a meal! The washer/dryer were clutch, too.

Very well located close to ocean trail and downtown PG. Kitchen was very nice and well stocked. Furniture in living room needs updating, and tub/showers are difficult to navigate for those of us of a certain age. ;-) As with all Sanctuary rentals, home is very clean. Overall we were satisfied, but prefer a more modern rental home.

Home is perfect location-3 houses away from shoreline, few short blocks away from restaurants, tea/coffee shops and within walking distance of grocery store. It is an easy walk to best place along local coast to see mother and baby harbor seals. Clean, comfortable and charming house.

perfect for two friends
A block to the ocean and perfect for two friends. One upstairs and one downstairs. It was walking distance to restaurants and the bike path. Pebble beach just a ten minute drive. We hiked everyday. There were so many amazing ocean hikes and the sea lions were birthing. ??

This home is absolutely beautiful! From stain glass windows to the beautiful kitchen. Everything was how it was described. Little house was also an easy walk to the trail along the coastline which led to tide pools, beaches, and the local famous Monterey aquarium! We walked to the aquarium in about 10 min. Perfect location for our family of little ones! Our youngest was able to keep up with the easy going trail. We would love to stay here again. Oh and I forgot to mention it’s CLEAN!!! I’m huge on cleanliness especially with young children and here at little house I didn’t have to worry at all! Thank you! We want to visit again already!

Little house was such a wonderful place to stay! We loved being there. The best part was being able to walk to the ocean, restaurants, the aquarium, and even tide pools! We were always out walking thanks to the accessibility to the walk along the shoreline. Our children loved it and already want to return. The house was clean which was huge for myself...being a momma of a young ones. We also loved the vintage look of the home, it was beautiful. Thank you for a beautiful and clean house!!!!

Just a block back from the water and only a few block from downtown. The house is beautifully restored and appointed. High quality amenities. Be aware both bathrooms have claw foot tubs which were a bit difficult for some guests to get in and out of. Management company was friendly and helpful. I would take my family back in a heartbeat.

Wow! Beautiful home in just as beautiful location! The historic home is well maintained and the choices for antique interior accents is fantastic! It’s nice where they added modern touches where important like the appliances. The double deep driveway is especially nice since everything is very walkable from the house. Half a block to the ocean, less than 15 minute walk to the aquarium and Canary Row!
We also loved how well stocked the house was, plenty of towels throughout, hand soaps at each sink. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in each shower. Dish soap and pods in the kitchen, and even laundry pods for the stack laundry in the office area. Communication was top notch, instructions clear, easy check in and check out! Would definitely stay here or anither Sanctuary Vacation Rental property again!

Our stay at Little House exceeded our very high expectations! The house was beyond well-equipped (the kitchen had arguably more amenities than our kitchen at home) and the home was extremely clean and tidy. The house itself is also gorgeous - all renovations have been period appropriate for the home and it's just stunning. Having one bed and bath downstairs, with two more bedrooms upstairs along with an additional bathroom is a great layout for many families, including ours. Also, our pups loved the fenced yard and the incredibly short (1/2 block) walk to the ocean! Our time at Little House was pretty much ideal and we will most certainly be back!

Incredibly well-furnished kitchen in a charming home! Located one block from the park and the coastal trail. Lovely and quiet location in Pacific Grove. Very comfortable for 4 adults...a little tight with 6. If you’re tall, the upstairs could be a challenge. Showers are in claw foot bathtubs which are charming but if you have mobility issues they could be a challenge to get in and out. Overall, very lovely accommodations and I would stay again in a heartbeat!

We loved the space and the location! It is such an adorable house and laid out well. We walked pretty much everywhere because it is so close to the trail by the ocean. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and they have luxurious towels as well. There weren’t any plastic or bamboo dishes which was tricky with small children but otherwise they have a very well stocked kitchen.

We loved the proximity to the beach trail, the museum and great restaurants, all of which were in walking distance. We enjoyed walks around Pacific Grove and taking in the sights of many magnificent Victorian style homes. The house was perfect for 4 adults. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. The dining room table was perfect for board games! We loved our stay and this lovely little red house!

Our experience with Sanctuary Vacations was excellent, the property was as described, wonderfully maintained and BEAUTIFUL, perfectly clean, and the kitchen was the best stocked in terms of cookware of any rental we've ever experienced! We enjoyed walking along the beach areas surrounding Lovers Point, going to dinner at Il Vecchio and Fandangos, and driving along 17 mile drive. Highly recommend!

an amazing home

Even better than the pictures. This home was immaculate not one speck of dust. Big props to the cleaning crew for making sure everything was sparkling clean. The home is like stepping into the past yet with modern upgrades. The kitchen is perfect and love the sink. The bathrooms are so spacious and the claw foot tubs are perfect after a long day at the beach. It was fun running up the stairs with the kiddo into the upstairs bedroom complete with an ocean view. The downstairs and upstairs beds are insanely comfortable never slept so well! Everything was perfect! We can’t wait to go back. I loved all the battery operated candles throughout out the home. At night it looked as if we stepped back in time to simpler times. A charming touch not overlooked. If I was to add one thing it would be some type of darker curtains throughout the living room kitchen area for more privacy and the fact that the backyard had lots of wild animal feces- have to be careful of that with pets along for the ride. Also we had nightly critters who liked to rummage in the garbage bins! A rock on top of the bin fixed that. Location is spectacular! Nice little grassy park area down the street, less than 5 mins to lovers point and cannery row. The perfect house and perfect trip. Thank you again sanctuary for making sure our stay was great! Our second time renting through them and we are looking forward to do it again.

The house had a great location, one block away from the waterfront, in the heart of PG. The management company was very attentive and flexible with our requests, they provided great service and were available throughout our stay. We traveled with family and the configuration of the bedrooms worked out great for our needs, the kitchen was well stocked and the extra amenities were a nice touch! We would certainly stay at the little house again in the future!

We had a great stay at the Little House with our two small children and dog. The fenced off yard was perfect for our dog, everything was well-stocked, and the property manager was responsive about a few additional small needs we had. It is also so close to the beach and downtown, which was very convenient. We'd gladly visit again.
